Police identified the suspect as Brandon Booth, who was apprehended by officers during a traffic stop near the facility shortly after the shooting. Authorities recovered a firearm from his vehicle and charged him with multiple felonies, including attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and unlawful carrying of a concealed weapon. The injured woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

Investigators state that the altercation began when the two women engaged in a verbal confrontation with employees and photographed vehicles parked at the site. As the women walked away, Booth reportedly retrieved his personal weapon and fired a single shot in their direction. The GEO Group confirmed in a statement that Booth has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

While the legal proceedings move forward, details regarding the suspect's history have begun to emerge. Destiny Winter, Booth’s former sister-in-law, described him to The Denver Post as a man who struggles with boundaries and accountability, citing a past violent incident in which he allegedly caused her a concussion.
