KBI Global Investors Launches Dual Sustainable Strategies

Dublin-based asset manager KBI Global Investors is expanding its footprint in the ESG market with two new strategies available to EU and UK clients. The launch includes a Global Core Sustainable Strategy and a Global Health & Wellbeing fund, signaling a firm commitment to responsible investing despite recent industry volatility.

KBI Global Investors Launches Dual Sustainable Strategies

The Global Core Sustainable Strategy, which underwent two years of incubation, targets a portfolio of 100 to 150 stocks. KBI Global Investors maintains that firms addressing environmental and social challenges demonstrate superior risk management and long-term growth potential. This strategy aligns with Article 9 of the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).

Simultaneously, the firm introduced the Global Health & Wellbeing Strategy, classified under Article 8. This fund tracks the MSCI World Healthcare Index and aims to capitalize on demographic shifts, particularly the global aging population. While some market participants express skepticism regarding the ability to generate alpha through social-focused ESG mandates, CEO Geoff Blake asserts that their proprietary research confirms high social scores correlate with organizational dynamism and performance.

Addressing the current climate, Blake acknowledged that geopolitical tensions and the dominance of US mega-cap technology stocks have created a challenging environment for Article 9 strategies. Despite some industry peers scaling back their ESG commitments, the firm views the current market conditions as a validation of its long-term strategy rather than a deterrent.
