After a year of development, X has launched a ground-up rebuild of its Android application, aiming to bridge a persistent performance gap with its iOS counterpart. The new version, built on Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, replaces a legacy codebase that had struggled with basic functionality like loading posts.
This release targets the global market where Android remains the dominant operating system, hoping to reclaim users alienated by previous technical failures. Last year, the Android experience was so fractured that users frequently encountered errors when attempting to load links.
