Australia’s Startup Battlefield reveals its judging panel

Eight Australian startups will step into the spotlight on August 19 at Stripe Tour Sydney, competing for a direct path to TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. With $15,000 in fee credits and global visibility on the line, the event hinges on a panel of judges tasked with identifying the next high-growth breakout company.

The competition brings together three figures deeply entrenched in the Australian and global tech ecosystem. Jasmine Liew, Head of Startup & Investor Partnerships for APAC at Stripe, provides the perspective of payment infrastructure and global scaling. She is joined by Brendan Hill, a venture partner at Ten13, who brings the practical scrutiny of an investor tasked with deploying capital. Rounding out the panel is Jarron Aizen, founder and CEO of Hapana, who offers the founder’s vantage point on navigating the Australian market.

This year’s event follows a history of success that includes alumni like Dropbox and Discord, which have collectively raised $32 billion. For the Sydney finalists, the stakes go beyond the prize money. While the winner secures $15,000 in Stripe credits and entry into the Startup Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, the primary value lies in the immediate access to investors and the wider tech community. Hosted by Isabelle Johannessen, the event serves as a launchpad for early-stage companies seeking to move from concept to revenue-generating operations.
