Lighthouse Canton Targets NRI Wealth with Cross-Border Platform

With the Indian diaspora reaching 35 million people and remittances hitting a record $135 billion, Singapore-based Lighthouse Canton is launching a dedicated platform to consolidate fragmented wealth. The initiative aims to provide non-resident Indians with a single advisory relationship spanning global and domestic financial holdings.

The new platform, dubbed Global Indian, leverages the firm’s regulated entities in India, GIFT City, Singapore, Dubai, and the UK. By integrating its proprietary technology system, Keenai, the firm promises to unify multi-jurisdictional reporting, tax management, and wealth structuring for clients whose assets are currently spread across disconnected banking relationships. Sumegh Bhatia, who leads the division as managing director and CEO for India and Global Indian, argues that current wealth management for NRIs is often hindered by this fragmentation. The goal is to ensure a family residing in London or Dubai can manage their Mumbai and Singapore portfolios through one team and a single, coherent strategy.

Alongside the platform launch, the firm introduced a Systematic Global Equities Fund domiciled in GIFT City, offering resident Indian investors a regulated path to diversify internationally. This expansion follows a period of aggressive growth for Lighthouse Canton, which recently secured $40 million in external funding and appointed a series of high-level executives in Singapore and Dubai. Leadership for the new venture includes Global and India Chief Investment Officers Sunil Garg and Abhay Laijawala, alongside key regional heads managing operations across the firm’s international hubs.
