Chevron posted its highest quarterly profits in six years, reporting $6.06 per share and revenue reaching $70.06 billion. The company’s upstream success was bolstered by record U.S. output of 2.08 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, supported by legacy Hess assets and the Permian Basin. Financial discipline remained a priority, with the firm paying down $4 billion in debt while maintaining a share repurchase target of up to $20 billion for the year.
ExxonMobil reported a net profit of $14.5 billion, a four-year high despite missing non-GAAP earnings expectations due to refinery maintenance. Production in the Permian Basin hit 1.8 million barrels per day, contributing to the company's highest upstream output in two decades. Notably, ExxonMobil confirmed it has fully recouped its $55 billion investment in Guyana two years ahead of schedule, shifting the contract to a more lucrative profit-sharing arrangement starting in the third quarter of 2026.
