Fresh from a primary win, Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan is sharpening her attacks on Republican Senate nominee Michele Tafoya. During a Thursday interview, Flanagan slammed her opponent for praising federal immigration agents' conduct during last winter’s controversial operations in Minneapolis, calling the federal agency completely out of control.
When pressed on Republican claims regarding healthcare fraud in Minnesota, Flanagan pivoted to target Donald Trump’s record. She argued that GOP efforts to center the campaign on fraud are a distraction from the president’s own actions, including the removal of 17 inspectors general tasked with federal oversight. Flanagan further accused the administration of pardoning dozens of white-collar criminals linked to systemic theft from Medicaid and Medicare programs.
