Ukraine has aggressively expanded its reach into Russian energy infrastructure, recently hitting Gazprom’s Neftekhim Salavat complex in the Urals. These persistent strikes have forced Moscow to take significant processing capacity offline, leading to acute domestic fuel shortages. In an attempt to stabilize the market, Russia has resorted to unusual measures, including the import of 42,000 tons of gasoline from India’s Vadinar refinery. Diesel and gasoil exports have plummeted to 80,000 barrels per day—a multi-year low—as the Kremlin struggles to balance export commitments with a deepening internal energy crisis.
