Users can now append thoughts to songs, podcast episodes, or audiobooks within their own or collaborative playlists. By selecting the three-dot menu on a mobile device, listeners can save a memory or recommendation that becomes visible to anyone accessing the playlist. This functionality serves as an expansion of the "User Notes" feature launched previously.
Simultaneously, Spotify is deploying these notes across its major editorial playlists, including Today’s Top Hits, RapCaviar, and Hot Country. Editors will provide the rationale behind their selections, accompanied by new "Editor Profiles" that highlight their curated work and musical preferences. While user-created notes are reaching over 100 markets on iOS and Android, editorial features are currently limited to free and premium users aged 16 and older in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
