This latest cash infusion brings the Santa Clara-based company’s total funding to approximately $500 million since exiting stealth in 2019. CEO Gautam Narang confirmed the capital will support an aggressive expansion of the startup's 350-person workforce and facilitate entry into new geographical markets. Gatik has effectively cornered the middle-mile niche, moving goods for heavyweights including Walmart, Kroger, Loblaw, and Tyson Foods.
Gatik secures $200 million to expand driverless middle-mile fleet
Autonomous box truck developer Gatik has secured $200 million in fresh capital, signaling a transition from pilot programs to large-scale commercial operations. The funding round, led by Qatar Investment Authority and Koch Disruptive Technologies, follows a significant multi-year agreement to supply PepsiCo with driverless logistics capabilities.

The company’s operational model centers on box trucks capable of navigating surface streets and highways in varied weather, including light rain and snow. Last year, Gatik achieved a technical breakthrough by removing safety drivers from commercial routes entirely. Today, 41 of these trucks are actively shuttling Frito-Lay products for PepsiCo across Dallas, Phoenix, and Northwest Arkansas. With $600 million in contracted revenue already on the books, Gatik is positioning its third-generation fleet to dominate the logistics space between distribution centers and retail stores.
