Amundi, which currently holds a 27 percent economic interest in Victory Capital Management, confirmed its backing of the transaction. As the primary distributor for both firms’ strategies outside the United States, the European asset manager plans to maintain and expand these ties under the new unified leadership. Valérie Baudson, chief executive officer of Amundi, noted that the firm’s long-standing familiarity with both managers’ investment strategies makes this integration a natural evolution of their existing partnership.

Victory Capital Holdings has unveiled plans to acquire New York-based First Eagle Investments for $7 billion, a move set to forge a diversified global asset management powerhouse overseeing $571 billion in assets.
