The firm has appointed industry veterans Sandro Steiner and Dominik Bühler as client relationship officers to spearhead operations. Both executives transition from UBS, bringing a combined six decades of private banking experience to the new location. Steiner, who previously managed the Berner Oberland market, will focus on Thun and the surrounding areas, while Bühler will oversee the Seeland and Biel markets. The team will report to Manuel Blanco, who leads private banking for the Gstaad and Greater Berne region.
EFG International Establishes Presence in Berne
EFG International has officially expanded its Swiss footprint with the opening of a central office at Marktgasse 37 in Berne. The Zurich-listed bank aims to capture further market share by deploying a specialized team to serve high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients across the region, effective immediately.

This expansion follows the bank’s growth strategy in the Swiss market, building on the established performance of its Gstaad branch. The Berne office is tasked with coordinating closely with existing regional teams to support clients both domestically and in international jurisdictions where EFG maintains a track record. Franco Polloni continues to oversee the broader Switzerland and Italy region for the bank.
