Prior to her time at Carey Olsen, she spent nine years building her practice at Taylor Wessing, managing international private wealth operations for Greater China from bases in both Shanghai and London.

A Mandarin-speaking specialist in offshore law, Yao maintains a client roster of entrepreneurial families and business owners across mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Her professional credentials include admissions to practice in England and Wales, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, and the People’s Republic of China, alongside registrations in Bermuda and Singapore. Beyond her casework, she serves on the committee for the Singapore branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
