UK law firm Penningtons Manches Cooper is planting its first flag outside domestic borders with a new private wealth practice in Singapore. The firm tapped Rachel Yao to spearhead the regional expansion, tasking her with navigating cross-border succession planning and governance for ultra-high-net-worth clients across the Asia-Pacific market.

A Mandarin-speaking specialist in offshore law, Yao maintains a client roster of entrepreneurial families and business owners across mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Her professional credentials include admissions to practice in England and Wales, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, and the People’s Republic of China, alongside registrations in Bermuda and Singapore. Beyond her casework, she serves on the committee for the Singapore branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
