The new functionality, available on iPhones running iOS 27, taps into Apple’s image-context capabilities to scan saved photos for individual garments. Once an item is identified, Daydream pulls from its catalog of 3 million products to offer exact matches or curated alternatives. CEO Julie Bornstein notes the system is designed to handle specific stylistic preferences, such as requesting a color variation for a sweater seen in a saved image.
Daydream app integrates Apple Intelligence for visual fashion search
Fashion discovery app Daydream is leveraging Apple’s latest developer tools to transform smartphone photo galleries into personal shopping portals. By utilizing on-device image analysis and Siri integration, the platform now allows users to identify clothing from screenshots and execute complex style searches without ever opening the application interface.

Beyond visual search, the integration enables natural-language requests through Siri. By configuring a "Style Passport" with personal data like sizing, budget, and brand preferences, users can prompt the assistant to find items tailored to their specific needs. Daydream intends to evolve these features into a comprehensive shopping agent capable of navigating a user’s lifestyle across various digital surfaces. With 1.5 million existing shoppers and partnerships with retailers ranging from Uniqlo to Gucci, the company is positioning itself to outperform generic search tools that often struggle with fashion-specific accuracy.
