Spotlight Search has received a significant overhaul to match these capabilities. It now serves as a central hub for deep file and message indexing, allowing users to pull specific data—such as membership IDs or travel itineraries—without manually opening individual apps. Furthermore, Siri’s integration into writing workflows is more pronounced on the desktop than on mobile; users can now highlight text blocks to trigger proofreading, rewriting, or drafting prompts directly within any text input field.

Beyond AI, the update introduces the Liquid Glass design language, characterized by consistent corner radii and edge-to-edge sidebars.
