Ahmed T el-Gaili is returning to the firm as a partner to spearhead the Middle East practice. Having previously spent six years at the London office, el-Gaili brings nearly two decades of regional expertise, with a career history advising sovereign wealth funds, state-owned enterprises, and private equity firms. He will collaborate with partners Garth Bray and Umberto Hassan, who offer specialized experience in technology regulation, cross-border mergers, and corporate restructuring.

Within the Abu Dhabi Global Market financial center, Sullivan & Cromwell has officially launched a new office following full regulatory authorization. The firm intends to leverage this strategic hub to manage domestic and cross-border transactions, litigation, and complex regulatory matters for clients across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Robert Giuffra and Scott Miller, co-chairs of the firm, described the expansion as a move to deepen ties with one of the world’s most dynamic financial centers.
