The new subscription structure arrives as Meta seeks to recover its 2025 investment of $14.3 billion in Scale AI. For individual users, the $7.99 Core and $19.99 Premium tiers integrate existing Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp Plus features with expanded AI capabilities. These tools allow for high-frequency video generation and advanced content editing, such as the AI-powered Restyle feature on Instagram.
Meta Launches Meta One Subscription Tiers to Monetize AI
Meta has introduced Meta One, a tiered subscription service designed to capitalize on its heavy investment in generative AI. By gating access to tools like Muse Image and Muse Video behind monthly fees, the company aims to convert its massive social media user base into a reliable stream of recurring revenue.
Meta is simultaneously targeting professional users with a tiered business model ranging from the $14.99 Essential plan to the $499 Max tier. These professional options provide expanded access to the Meta Business Agent, verified badges, and advanced analytics for audience management. The strategy appears to be gaining momentum; market intelligence firm Appfigures reported that Instagram’s daily global revenue jumped 475% following the initial rollout of basic subscription tiers in September. With financial analysts at BNP Paribas and Truist projecting billions in additional annual revenue by the end of the decade, Meta is betting that users are willing to pay for premium creative and operational efficiency.
