Entrepreneurs Target $367 Billion AI Investment Surge

A staggering $367 billion is earmarked for artificial intelligence spending by wealthy entrepreneurs over the coming year, according to HSBC’s Global Entrepreneurial Wealth Report 2026. Surveying over 3,000 business owners with at least $2 million in assets, the data reveals a heavy commitment to integrating new technologies into their core operations.

Entrepreneurs Target $367 Billion AI Investment Surge

Nearly 80 percent of the business owners surveyed intend to ramp up their AI investment, setting aside an average of 21 percent of their annual revenue for these tools. Contrary to fears of widespread workforce reduction, 44 percent of these entrepreneurs expect AI adoption to drive headcount growth over the next two years, while only 23 percent anticipate job losses. Boosting employee productivity remains the primary incentive for this pivot, cited by 43 percent of respondents.

Beyond technical integration, the report highlights a robust appetite for expansion. Roughly 83 percent of those surveyed are eyeing mergers or acquisitions, with a significant preference for domestic market consolidation. Despite a slight dip in the number of entrepreneurs describing their outlook as "very positive"—down to 49 percent from 54 percent in 2025—the broader sentiment remains overwhelmingly optimistic. Young, female, ultra-high-net-worth individuals aged 18 to 34 emerged as the most bullish group, with 74 percent projecting substantial growth in their personal wealth. However, these leaders remain cautious, identifying market volatility and inflation as their most pressing financial threats.
