By mid-September, UAE crude exports climbed back to 3.236 million barrels per day, a significant recovery from the 1.9 million bpd recorded in March. This rebound relied on a complex logistics shift, including expanded tanker operations and ship-to-ship transfers in the Gulf of Oman designed to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. Behind the scenes, the AIQ technology suite provided the agility required to manage this volatility, allowing operators to adjust well production and reroute pipelines in real-time as physical infrastructure faced disruption.
At the core of this resilience is the AIQ ecosystem, which has deployed roughly 200 distinct use cases across ADNOC's operations. The RoboWell system, now active across 500 wells, optimizes flow rates automatically, while the Neuron 5 predictive maintenance platform monitors 1,200 critical assets. These tools have successfully reduced unplanned shutdowns by half, providing the company with a massive operational buffer during the crisis. CEO Dennis Jol noted that tasks previously requiring weeks of engineering analysis are now finalized in hours, enabling rapid decision-making during the height of the export bottlenecks.
