Citigroup Hires Michael Zezas to Lead Global Research

After a two-decade tenure at Morgan Stanley, Michael Zezas is joining Citigroup to head its research division. Zezas, who most recently served as deputy global head of research at his former firm, replaces Rob Rowe, who managed the department on an interim basis during the transition.

Zezas will operate from New York, overseeing a franchise that Citigroup views as central to its client-focused strategy. David Livingstone, the bank’s chief client officer, emphasized that the hire signals a continued investment in providing differentiated market insights for clients navigating increasingly complex capital markets.

This appointment follows a series of leadership shuffles within the broader Citigroup organization. In mid-September, the bank bolstered its trade and working capital solutions business with three key hires. While these roles sit outside traditional wealth management, they remain critical for the bank’s ultra-high-net-worth clients who require sophisticated cross-border support for their operating companies.
