The bank’s private banking arm emerged as a primary engine for growth, recording a historic €17 billion in net inflows. This surge pushed total assets under management across private and asset management divisions to €2 trillion. Wealth management specifically benefited from a 10 per cent revenue increase, driven by a higher volume of discretionary mandates and deposit product activity. Meanwhile, the asset management unit pulled in €31 billion, marking its second consecutive record quarter fueled by strong demand for passive investment products.
Deutsche Bank Hits Third Consecutive Quarterly Profit Record
Deutsche Bank secured €1.9 billion in profit after tax during the third quarter of 2026, marking a streak of three consecutive record-breaking quarters. Despite broader market volatility, the Frankfurt-based lender saw group-wide revenue climb 4 per cent to €8.3 billion, bolstered by robust performance across its wealth and asset management divisions.

Operational efficiency also improved, with the cost-to-income ratio tightening to 62.4 per cent from 64.4 per cent a year prior, even as noninterest expenses remained flat. However, the bank increased provisions for credit losses by 9 per cent to €501 million, a move attributed to ongoing efforts to de-risk its commercial real estate portfolio alongside a specific, isolated event within the corporate banking arm. Chief Executive Officer Christian Sewing highlighted growing client confidence in Germany as a key pillar for future momentum, suggesting the firm may outperform its 2028 target for a return on tangible equity of above 13 per cent.
