After nearly three decades of leadership under Roberto Paganoni, LGT Capital Partners has tapped longtime executive Sascha Gruber to take the helm. Effective January 1, 2027, the transition marks a significant shift for the alternative investment manager, which currently oversees more than $120 billion in assets.

Gruber, a veteran of the firm since 2002, has been instrumental in scaling the company’s private markets division, specifically driving the expansion of its secondaries strategy and establishing a footprint in the Americas. His appointment remains subject to standard regulatory approval. Paganoni, who founded the business in 1998, will transition to the group holding board as part of a long-term succession strategy.

Prince Max von und zu Liechtenstein, chairman of the firm, credited Paganoni with building a resilient global organization. He expressed confidence that Gruber’s deep institutional knowledge will maintain the firm's trajectory under the ownership of the Princely Family. LGT Capital Partners continues to operate across 16 global offices, managing a diverse portfolio of private markets and sustainable investment strategies for over 750 institutional clients.
