Deliveries under the contract are scheduled to commence before the end of this year. Stéphane Michel, President of Gas, Renewables & Power at TotalEnergies, highlighted that the company's geographical positioning between European and Asian markets remains critical to maintaining its status as a top-tier LNG supplier. For ADNOC Gas, the partnership reinforces its competitive standing and long-term commitment to shareholder value, according to CEO Fatema Al Nuaimi.
ADNOC Gas Seals Five-Year LNG Export Deal with TotalEnergies
Abu Dhabi’s ADNOC Gas has finalized a multi-year agreement to supply up to 1.6 million tons of liquefied natural gas to French energy giant TotalEnergies. The deal, announced Tuesday, marks a strategic expansion for both firms as they navigate volatile global markets and shifting energy demands across Asia and Europe.

This agreement arrives despite recent logistical pressures within the Strait of Hormuz. The UAE remains focused on scaling its output, specifically through the upcoming Ruwais LNG project in Al Ruwais Industrial City. Once operational, the facility is expected to add 9.6 million tons per annum to the company's capacity, with the majority of that volume already earmarked for international buyers. The deal follows ADNOC’s recent consolidation of its marketing and trading operations, a move designed to support a production target of 47 million tons of LNG per year by 2035.
