The current tender allows buyers to secure cargoes on a free-on-board basis from Fujairah, Zirku, or Das Island. Alternatively, clients may arrange ship-to-ship transfers within the Fujairah-Sohar range, effectively bypassing the congested chokepoint.
UAE Boosts Exports as ADNOC Launches Ninth Spot Crude Tender
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has initiated its ninth spot tender since June, offering October and November loadings of Upper Zakum, Umm Lulu, and Das crude grades. This aggressive sales strategy continues despite ongoing instability near the Strait of Hormuz, signaling the UAE’s push to maximize international market share.
The UAE, which exited OPEC on May 1, reached a record production output of 4.1 million barrels per day in June. To sustain this momentum, the nation relies on an onshore pipeline network that transports crude from western fields to the east, avoiding the Strait of Hormuz entirely. Where tankers must transit the waterway, the country has increasingly utilized "dark mode" shipping tactics to ensure supply lines remain open. These logistical maneuvers have allowed the UAE to restore oil exports to pre-crisis levels despite regional geopolitical friction.
