The platform is introducing a vouching system allowing members to confirm the work history of former colleagues. Unlike traditional endorsements, this mechanism serves as a factual attestation of tenure. To prevent abuse, the system mandates that those providing a vouch must hold a verified profile, maintain a connection of at least one year, and utilize two-factor authentication.
Simultaneously, LinkedIn is granting companies greater autonomy over their brand presence. Page administrators can now identify and disconnect accounts that falsely claim employment. While the tool does not delete the user’s personal profile, it severs the clickable link to the company page and strips the employment claim of its verified status. LinkedIn is also testing a requirement for new page associations to undergo workplace email verification.
